Epic Sun contains of four talented, drifty guys and a sensational singer by the name of Linda Krantz. They are stationed in Stockholm and their background contains of all kinds of music, from the heaviest kind of rock to pop with jazz and fusion influences. All together this gives a musical security, but their skills as musicians never get in the way of their songs.
Back in Stockholm they are an established live band and they have preformed at classical stages as Mosebacke, Kägelbanan and Tantogården but also at new successful stages such as Debaser, Fryshuset (the club) and traditional Gröna Lund and other key stages. They have been praised in the media, won Tuborgs demo contest, got a price for best vocals in Lidingö rock and they have been Sweden finalists in Emergenza. But Epic Sun themselves are not the bragging kind who talks about their success. Encouraging, of course, but they know that kind of resumes don’t mean a thing, if you don’t have that special something to capture a live audience and get the radio listeners attention!
The band writes their own material and works creatively with Anders Dannvik (who among others produced Drömhus and Pernilla Wahlgren), Thomas Thörnholm (Grammy winning producer with winning contributions in the Norwegian Eurovision song contest),the producer/musician Michael Blair (Lou Reed, Tom Waits, R.E.M. and Elvis Costello among others) and the producer Patrik Tibell (Eddie Meduza for example).
November 1st 2005, the single ”Sheila” from their debut album ”Quarter to eleven” was released. During the winter 2005/2006 ”Sheila” found it’s way in to the Swedish singles chart and stayed there for 4 weeks. The album was released in March 13th in 2006 and has gotten good response from critics as well as from the listeners.
